Why the lowest subscription is not always the lowest cost
Basic starts at the lowest monthly fee, but it has no Relax Mode and includes only 200 Fast minutes. A larger image workload can make Basic plus extra Fast Time more expensive than Standard, which includes 15 Fast hours and unlimited Relax images. The calculator evaluates every eligible plan using the same workload instead of comparing sticker price alone.

- Fast image work: keep client reviews, time-sensitive batches, and unsupported Relax features in the Fast percentage.
- Relax image work: Standard, Pro, and Mega can move eligible images out of the Fast allowance, but queue time can range from immediate to roughly 30 minutes.
- Video: only Pro and Mega include Relax Mode for SD video; HD video is Fast-only and consumes substantially more GPU time.
- Turbo: Midjourney says Turbo uses double Fast Time and is not currently supported in V8.1, so this calculator does not assume Turbo availability.

Does Relax Mode reduce the Fast GPU time I need?
Yes, if your plan and job type support it. Standard, Pro, and Mega include unlimited Relax Mode for images. Only Pro and Mega include Relax Mode for SD video. Relax jobs can wait longer and some features are unavailable in Relax Mode.
